Kiltwalk
Creative concepts / Social
Illustration
As a principal sponsor of Kiltwalk, Royal Bank of Scotland wanted to increase social engagement around the event while creating a physical activation that people could interact with on the day.
Joining the project at short notice, I researched each route and created four illustrated maps featuring recognisable local landmarks. I also recommended adapting the maps into carousel posts, allowing the routes to work more effectively and engagingly on social.
The second part of the brief was to create a portable and sustainable creative execution that would encourage people to interact with RBS at the Kiltwalk events.
One of my initial concepts, ‘What’s Under the Kilt’, invited people to pose behind illustrated kilt boards and share their photos on social media. However, we identified accessibility limitations for children, wheelchair users and people of different heights, so the concept needed to evolve.
I developed a more inclusive event backdrop instead, incorporating the illustrated route maps from each location and creating an design that everyone could interact with and photograph.
